Lisa Bonner is a lawyer, author and avid traveler who has successfully merged her professional life, public speaking, hosting and passion for travel.  

 After graduating from New York University School of Law, Lisa began her career as a litigator, then transitioned to practice entertainment and media law. As a veteran entertainment and media attorney, Lisa provides counsel for large media companies, film distribution companies, music, television and film producers, and independent artists, Grammy Award winning recording artists, music publishers. Lisa has served as outside General Counsel for some of the largest and most recognizable name in content handling editorial, print, digital, television, book publishing, music financing, production and distribution needs for companies including Vibe Magazine, Spin Magazine, Codeblack Pictures, and serves as outside production legal counsel for various media companies including NBCUniversal, Bravo, Warner Media, Nickelodeon, BET, Endeavor Corporate and Endeavor Content. 

Lisa is an independent film producer on several films, including the NAACP Award nominated Little Ballers in 2015, following the lives New York City AAU little ballers (featuring now “Big Baller” Cole Anthony of Orlando Magic) the which premiered on Nickelodeon, Little Ballers Indiana featuring WNBA Skylar Diggs, on Nick Sports and Foreman, the official documentary of former Heavyweight Champion George Foreman, which premiered on EPIX. All Lisa’s films may be seen on various streaming platforms. 

Lisa began chronicling her travel life in 2010, focusing on aspirational travel destinations, often with an eye towards socially conscious issues that may be of interest to the sophisticated and discerning reader. Lisa’s work has been featured in Ebony (and Ebony.com), Essence (and Essence.com), Yahoo.com, the Huffington Post, Jones Magazine, Uptown Magazine. Whether traveling solo, with friends or as a guest of tourism boards across the world, Lisa’s aim is to highlight some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.  

In 2022, Lisa published The LegaliTEAs of Entrepreneurship: The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence and Balance, a must-have “how to” guide that gives you the tea on starting and maintaining your own business from a legal perspective, dispensed with a side of practical, firsthand advice that every entrepreneur needs. Pulling from her multifaceted career as lawyer, journalist, media producer, travel enthusiast and travel writer—and having operated a successful law practice for over two decades—Lisa draws from her personal and professional life in dispensing legal advice on how to start and maintain a business properly from the ground up, spilling the tea on how to stay sane in the process.
